The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce has announced KeyBank as the recipient of the Sanborn Business of the Year Award. The Sanborn Business and Professional Association assisted the chamber in providing a nomination that has shown dedication and service to the Sanborn community.

KeyBank is a great community neighbor working hard to establish relationships with customers and local businesses and organizations.

It is clear why the Business Association chose KeyBank as the honoree. Association President Bonnie Haskell said she is grateful for the business' support.

"Having a banking establishment involved in the community shows the commitment KeyBank has to the region," she said. "From supporting local events, volunteering during Neighbors Make the Difference Day and Branch Manager Lise Michael serving as volunteer treasurer for our organization, the bank is an asset to the community and we are happy to have them here."

There has been a bank at the 2952 Saunders Settlement Road location across from the Niagara County Community College campus since the 1960s. After changing financial institutions several times, the branch was acquired by KeyBank in 2012. Customers have been loyal to the location.

Five employees staff the Sanborn branch and, together, possess years of banking experience. Michael has more than 32 years of banking and leads a staff that includes Keisha Houser, Andrea Haseley, Bridgett Luzak, Christine Daugherty (financial adviser) and Jennifer Haseley.

Community involvement is important to KeyBank. In fact, KeyBank was recently listed as one of the top 50 community-minded companies in the U.S. from "The Civic 50" organization.

Bank locations from all over the country observe Neighbors Make the Difference Day. Staff members close the branches in order to assist in projects in their respective communities. Last year, the Sanborn staff helped plant flowers for the Historical Association of Sanborn and placed association flower boxes to welcome visitors. This year, they will assist the SPCA of Niagara.

The event is a way for staff members to connect with projects that directly benefit where they work and the people they serve. A community that thrives and works together lends to the success of the branch.

The bank continues to evolve with client needs. There are more opportunities than ever for customers to access all of their banking needs online, as well as with mobile banking. While the Sanborn branch is able to provide all of these options and more, its face-to-face interaction with the customers and excellent customer service is a priority. The branch is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and until 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. It also offers a drive-up ATM and drive-thru banking.

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce and the Sanborn Business and Professional Association proudly congratulate the Sanborn KeyBank branch, the 2015 Sanborn Business of the Year.
