The Father's Day Classic Car Show & Lawn Mower Race benefiting the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life on Grand Island will be held this year on West River Parkway at Long Road, Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A highlight of this year's event is the "The Kevin Doring Walk" 5K held in Kevin's memory. Registration for the run/walk is from 9-11 a.m. The walk begins at 11 a.m.

Registration for the lawn mower races also is from 9-11 a.m. Visit www.gilawnmowerraces.webs.com for more information on the race categories and for registration forms.

Both the lawn mower and running/walking races are open to the public. Guests are encouraged to gather along the road to watch the races free of charge, and to take advantage of the food stations and 50/50 raffle.

The Father's Day Classic Car Show will take place throughout the day. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m.

This is a non-alcoholic family event. In case of inclement weather, the races will be held Sunday, June 15.
