Artpark in Lewiston is kicking off its 40th anniversary season with a gala evening on Saturday, June 1. The celebration event will take place in the scenic Outdoor Amphitheater area overlooking the Niagara River gorge. The evening will be highlighted by entertainment and a gala dinner.
The black-tie-optional gala begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in an elegant tent. Buffalo's own Bobby Militello, an internationally known jazz musician, and his quartet will entertain as gala attendees bid on a wide selection of unique silent auction items.
Gala signature drinks by ONE ROQ vodka, mixed in a pre-prohibition style, will be poured for tasting. Floral arrangements will be created by Woyshner's Lafayette Flower Market - whose history includes 16 years at the White House designing for Christmas and large parties.
The chefs of longtime Buffalo restaurant Sinatra's will serve up the gala dinner. Mini desserts and cookies from Muscoreil's will sweeten the meal. Longtime WKBW-TV Channel 7 news anchor and Lewiston resident Keith Radford will serve as master of ceremonies for the event.
From the stages of Las Vegas, Frankie Scinta and his orchestra will provide a night(club) of entertainment. A Buffalo native, Scinta is the master of many musical instruments, and is a powerhouse singer. He sprinkles his show with impressions and a dash of comedy.
The Scintas have performed for presidents, governors and everyday people who return to their show again and again. Their show has been voted one of the top five favorites in Vegas.
"I can't wait to perform at Artpark," Frankie Scinta said. "It's an event not to be missed!"
Ivoclar Vivadent is the gala's proud presenting sponsor. Frey Electric Construction Co. is sponsoring the entertainment, and Supermarket Liquors and Wines is a platinum sponsor. Many other local businesses and individuals are participating as table sponsors.
This special event benefits Artpark & Company's programming and improvements to the park, which is enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of patrons each year. Visitors take advantage of the venue's many concerts, theater performances, festivals, unique activities for families and experience the natural beauty of this historic, 150-acre park.
Laurie Lisowski Frey and Kent Frey are the gala chairpersons. For more information on obtaining tickets or sponsorships for Artpark's 40th anniversary gala, visit www.Artpark.net or call the Artpark Box Office at 716-754-4375.
