Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino will present a night of legendary music with one of the greatest girl groups in history when The Pointer Sisters perform at the Seneca Niagara Event Center on Saturday, May 10 (8 p.m.). Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, and start at $35.
The Pointer Sisters have been entertaining fans and electrifying audiences around the world for more than 50 years with their unmistakable blend of R&B, pop and soul. Known for their signature harmonies, infectious energy, and undeniable stage presence, the group released their first album, “The Pointer Sisters,” in 1973, seeing success with the single “Yes We Can Can.”
The Pointer Sisters made history and won their first Grammy Award in 1975 for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for the single “Fairytale.” They were the first Black females to win a Grammy in the country category and became the first Black group to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.
They achieved continued commercial success throughout the 1970s and ’80s, with hits “Fire,” “I’m So Excited,” “Neutron Dance,” “Slow Hand,” “He’s So Shy,” and the Grammy-winning “Jump (For My Love).” The Pointer Sisters had an incredible influence on generations of female artists and remain one of the most iconic and influential groups in music history.
