Seneca Gaming Corp. Press Release

Winter may not be over, but Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino has announced the first “must-see” summer concert of 2025. Country music superstar Darius Rucker will perform an outdoor concert at the region’s premier entertainment destination on Friday, Aug. 1 (8 p.m.). Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, Jan. 24, and start at $55.

Rucker helped define the music of the mid-1990s as the lead singer of the Grammy-winning rock band Hootie & the Blowfish. He then went on to a chart-topping solo career, captivating country music audiences everywhere with his heartfelt lyrics and signature baritone voice. Rucker became the first Black artist to win the New Artist Award from the Country Music Association in 2009, fueled by the success of his debut country album “Learn to Live,” and its hit single, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” – both of which peaked at No. 1.

In the years since, he has consistently reached the heights of the country charts with hits including “Wagon Wheel,” “It Won’t Be Like This for Long,” “Alright,” “Come Back Song” and “Beers and Sunshine,” along with four No. 1 country albums.

Rucker’s latest release, “Carolyn’s Boy,” is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother and features the powerful single “Fires Don’t Start Themselves.”

Beyond his musical achievements, Rucker is a dedicated philanthropist, raising millions for causes such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and championing education through the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation.
