Agreement revealed at cross-border business and current affairs forum CanAm Now

On Thursday, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Western New York's regional chamber of commerce and privately funded economic development organization, announced strategic agreements with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce at CanAm Now - the cross-border business development and current affairs forum. The agreements grant Buffalo Niagara Partnership members reciprocal associate memberships to the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Niagara Chamber Commerce. Benefits include access to cross-border events, business networking opportunities, news and updates.

"With Buffalo's proximity to Southern Ontario, it is only natural that we focus on fostering business connections to develop and advance both regions through a strategic partnership such as this," Buffalo Niagara Partnership CEO and President Dottie Gallagher-Cohen said. "We are honored to work with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce as Buffalo and Southern Ontario continue to undergo economic resurgences that mutually benefit one another."

Held at The Conference and Event Center Niagara Falls, CanAm Now featured a keynote address by Maryscott "Scotty" Greenwood, CEO of the Canadian American Business Council. Greenwood discussed the impact the current political climate can have on the North American Free Trade Agreement, and its implications for international business relationships. The event also featured a series of breakout sessions to educate guests about how to safely and legally move goods and employees across the border, and a networking segment that helped guests learn more about fellow attendees.

"Building strong international relationships is a critical step for business growth in Southern Ontario and Buffalo," said Greenwood, commenting on today's event. "As we evaluate the current administration's agenda, CanAm Now provided an ideal forum to engage and empower business owners from the U.S. and Canada with the tools, knowledge and resources to grow and develop their organizations."
