Artpark Theater Academy for children & young adults will culminate with a full-stage production of 'Fiddler on the Roof Jr.'

Artpark & Company will present a unique and new opportunity for local youth to let their talents shine in a full production of "Fiddler on the Roof Jr." presented at the Mainstage Theater. The production includes a complete set and will be created, designed, rehearsed and performed by Artpark Theater Academy students.

The academy launches this summer. From July 10 through Aug. 5 (a four-week session), students will explore all aspects of musical theater, including acting, vocals, dancing, scenic design and promotions.

The academy is appropriate for children ages 8-17, with minimal or no experience required. It has limited availability, so early registration is encouraged. Academy hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Tuition is $895 per student. Thanks to a donation from Pamela and Joseph Priest, Artpark is offering 50 percent off full tuition. The limited-time discounted rate of $447.50 is for those who register by March 1.

A $150 nonrefundable deposit is due upon registration. Tuition balance is due by April 1.

Early registration is encouraged and can be completed online at artpark.net. The Artpark website will have information on special discounts, scholarships and audition information in coming weeks.

Former Artpark Theater Camp Director Paschal Frisina will serve as director of the Artpark Theater Academy and direct the "Fiddler on the Roof Jr." production. Frisina is currently the director of the theater arts program at St. Joseph Collegiate Institute in Buffalo. He also teaches public speaking, history of theater, and is a guest director as an adjunct professor at Niagara County Community College.

As a performer, Frisina has been involved in over 100 professional productions - more than 20 of those taking place on stage at Artpark. Under Frisina's guidance, a number of top theater professionals will work with students on all aspects of theatrical productions throughout the program.
