Obit: Rhada Wiedemer-Beyer

Rhada (née Tavernier) Wiedemer-Beyer, age 95, of Grand Island, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016. Born in Chateaugay, New York, she was the last surviving child of the late Felix and Clara (née Santamore) Tavernier and had been predeceased by her 11 siblings. Rhada and her husband Robert Wiedemer built their home on Grand Island in 1948, and both were community members of the Grand Island Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and St. Stephen's Alter Society for over 50 years while raising their four children.

She was the wife of the late Robert Charles Wiedemer, who died Feb. 12, 1981, and the late Andrew J. Beyer, who died March 27, 2007; loving mother of Michael (Pam) Wiedemer of Tullahoma, Tennessee; Patricia (Robert) Ensminger of Tonawanda; Paul (Patti) Wiedemer of Thornton, Colorado; and Sandra (Christopher) Beyer of Grand Island; loving grandmother of Kimberly (Peter) Haverkos, Robert Ensminger, Matthew (Jamie) Wiedemer, Rebecca Wiedemer, Jeremiah (Erin) Ensminger, Carrie (Ken) Gannetta, Matthew (Grace) Beyer, Micahlena Beyer, Nathaniel Beyer, and the late Christian Wiedemer; and great-grandmother of Gabriel, Abigail, Hannah and Norah Haverkos, Rubina Wiedemer and Anodyne and Vivian Ensminger. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Hamp Funeral Home Inc., Tonawanda, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen R.C. Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island. Interment was at St. Stephen Cemetery. If desired, memorials to St. Stephen's Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14072, are preferred by the family.
