Shown are scenes of a recent winter clothing drive at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church on Grand Island for the local refugee community. The response was overwhelming, according to Deacon Frank Kedzielawa, who organized the drive. He said it required several trips from the church to the Catholic Charities Immigration and Refugee Assistance Center in Buffalo.

The parishioners donated new or gently used coats, hats and gloves for the refugees from many different countries who have been resettled in Buffalo.

Pictured, from left, are John Royal, Janet Martin, John Williams and Tim O'Laughlin.
