Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul visited Buffalo Monday in support of a fund drive for the needy organized by Grand Islanders.

Hochul donated pillows at the Response to Love Center at 130 Kosciuszko St., Buffalo. The drive is organized by Diane and Rich Gurbacki for Sister Johnice Rzadkiewicz at the center, located at St. Adalbert's church on Buffalo's East Side.

The Gurbackis are helping Rzadkiewicz with the pillow drive after Rzadkiewicz told them many of the adults to whom she ministers have not had a fresh pillow in decades, and some of the children roll up an old blanket or towel to rest their heads.

The Pillows for Their Head drive is ongoing. Bring a new pillow or make a donation of $10 toward the purchase of a pillow in the donor's name at the following locations:

•Flying Bison Brewery, 840 Seneca St. in Buffalo, on the evening of Friday, Dec. 9.

•Flying Bison Brewery, 840 Seneca St. in Buffalo, in the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 17.

•St. Stephen R.C. Church, Grand Island after Mass Sunday, Dec. 18.

For more information or questions, call Rich Gurbacki at 716-361-1145 or visit the "Pillows for Their Head" page on Facebook.
