Red Kettle campaign underway

The Salvation Army Tonawanda Corps recently began its Red Kettle campaign at Budwey's Supermarket, 535 Division St., North Tonawanda.

Community members and elected officials, including North Tonawanda Mayor Arthur G. Pappas (pictured), helped kick off the campaign, which will run through the holiday season.

The Salvation Army's goal is to raise $170,000 to meet its budget needs for the 2016-17 fiscal year.

The Salvation Army Tonawanda Corps serves the North Tonawanda, Tonawanda, Grand Island and Amherst communities.

Christmas assistance and other help for those in need is available from 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at 46 Broad St., Tonawanda.
