Obit: Donald T. Wiant

Donald T. Wiant, 78, of Copeland Oaks in Sebring, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

He was born on March 31, 1938 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, to the late Rev. Howard J. and Betty (Poole) Wiant. Don served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Kent State University and worked for British Petroleum/Carborundum in Niagara Falls.

Don loved the outdoors; traveling to Wiant's Island in Apsley, Ontario; genealogy, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by five children; David (Betsy) Wiant of Pittsford, Michael (Kristi) Wiant of Copley, Ohio, Mindy (Jason) Koschuk of Grand Island, Dale Charles (Ellen) Engelhart Jr. of Hilliard, Ohio, and Emily Wiant of Findlay, Ohio. Don is also survived by a sister, Janet (James) Rogers of Ocala, Florida, and 10 grandchildren: Kyle, Jack, Chase, Sebastian, Skylar, Carson, Ava, Landon, Ivy and Claire.

A private graveside service will be held in Tremont City, Ohio, at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Don's honor via www.myevent.com/babyb.
