•Ellden's Grill & Banquet River Oaks Golf Club will host a pancake breakfast Sunday, Dec. 11, to support the Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island.

River Oaks is donating the entire cost of this event, providing all proceeds to the Neighbors Foundation for their work in helping those Grand Islanders temporarily in need. The breakfast will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"We on the all-volunteer Neighbors Foundation staff are particularly happy to thank Tom and Diane Brady of River Oaks management for their major support of the foundation at this Holiday Season," said Henry Kammerer, president of the Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island, noting as well that staff and management of River Oaks are donating all services and supplies to the fundraiser.

•Sidway Elementary School has set up the Giving Tree in the front hall. The tree is a way for Sidway students to give back to their community by bringing in canned food items and by donating $1 to purchase a star. The stars will decorate the tree and all proceeds and food items are donated to the Neighbors Foundation.
