Obituary: Linda Carosella

Fri, Dec 2nd 2016 05:20 pm

Surrounded by friends and loved ones, Linda Carosella (Locke) passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, in her new home in Chittenango, New York, at the age of 71.

She is survived by her children, Christopher Carosella of Chittenango, and Leigh Aceti of Riviera Beach, Florida; daughter-in-law Amy Carosella (Farrell); and grandchildren Julianne and Jessica Carosella of Chittenango, and Stephanie, Patrick and Samantha Aceti of Riviera Beach, Florida.

Linda was born on Sept. 5, 1945, in Lewiston to Arthur ("Kenny") and Mary Locke (Jones). After getting a diploma from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1963, she continued her education at the age of 40, ultimately receiving a Master of Arts degree in psychology from the University at Buffalo in 1992.

Never forgotten will be her time spent as a owner/operator of "The Bar" for more than two decades, her efforts championing the needs of children for Niagara County social services, the assistance she provided to inmates at local state and federal penitentiaries, her support of women in times of need via Niagara regional emergency hotlines, or the years of teaching at Bryant and Stratton.

She was an incredibly intelligent, humorous, prudent and studious woman who never was able to stop turning the pages of a great book. A very recent trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom proved her inner child still lived strong.

As per her wishes, there will be no ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Cancer Center of New York, 55 Broadway, New York, NY 10006 (or to the cancer charity of your choice). Condolences can be sent to [email protected].

The family would like to thank Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Upstate Cancer Center and CNY Hospice for the memories their support and knowledge have afforded. Their assistance created enough time for the generation of countless cherished moments to which no price tag could ever be attached.
