The Youngstown Business and Professional Association showed off its newly completed signpost located at the intersection of Main, Lockport and Water streets.

"It has been the Youngstown Business and Professional Association's desire to refurbish this signpost since last year, 2015," said Cheryl Irish-Butera, YBPA president. "What we had beforehand were several outdated and very faded signs until very recently. There were also some that simply did not match the theme or message we felt truly welcomed folks to the Village of Youngstown."

Irish-Butera said that, with the help of the DPW and a local artist who wishes to remain nameless, YBPA proudly dedicated the new signpost "officially renewed" on Oct. 14.

"It is with pride we all say 'Welcome to Youngstown!' " Irish-Butera said.

YBPA officers present at the dedication included, from left: Mark Butera, secretary; Quain Weber, board member; Irish-Butera; and Diane Melloni and Dotty Riordan, board members. Absent from the photo: Jerry Brett, vice president; and Steve Zastrow, treasurer.
