James Milne, formerly of Grand Island and late of The Villages, Florida, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at the age of 77.
Jim retired as the Town of Grand Island tax assessor in 2001. Previous to that he was the vice president of the Niagara County Savings Bank for 16 years. He and his wife, Kay, moved to The Villages, Florida, in 2005 and he enjoyed golfing, cruising and so many activities. During his lifetime he was very involved in many charitable activities such as the Grand Island Lions Club, the Cerebral Palsy Association and many more.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Kathleen (Kelman) Milne. He was the father of Debbie (Thomas) Wirth, Lesley (Thomas) Pyjas and the late James D. Milne; grandfather of Lindsey Shelton, Sara El Houssieny, Amanda El Houssieny and Adam El Houssieny; great-grandfather to Annabelle Kay Wirth. He was the brother to Violet McIntyre and Kathleen Ladouceur, and the son of the late Duncan and Isabelle Milne. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving family.
A celebration of life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, at 7 p.m. Oct. 19. All are welcome to attend.
