More than 80 people came together at Michael's Landing in North Tonawanda on Sunday to enjoy a high tea for Webster Street business owner Michele Krienbuhl.

Funds generated from the event went toward a getaway for Krienbuhl and her daughter.

For 17 years, Krienbuhl, owner of Michele's Motif, has donated portions of her sales from her business to Roswell Park Cancer Institute. (See related article on the Tribune website, wnypapers.com.)

"The fundraiser was not only a wonderful time, but it was successful at reaching our goal," said Holly Rankie, owner of Hip Gypsy on Webster Street, organizer of the event. "And now her and her daughter are going to be able to go away and spend some time together."

Guests dined on English dishes and treats served by "The English Tea Ladies," while sipping tea to the music of Frank Sinatra and other crooners sung by soloist Michael Nugent of Mike Nugent Entertainment.

Attendees included area residents, business owners and friends and family of Krienbuhl.

"I just want to thank everybody," Krienbuhl said. "I'm still in awe over the whole event. To me, it was an honor. I was honored to be there. ... I'm very, very, very fortunate to have all these people in my life."

"Everybody was just so kind," Rankie said. "It was kind of a mind-blowing thing. ... The generosity that just pours from every corner of everywhere - it was just amazing."
