Amid your host of fall chores and activities already piling up this weekend, the Niagara Falls Ancient Order of Hibernians invite you to "take a break" and visit its second annual Irish-American Fall Fun Party. The event takes place from 4-10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at the St. John de LaSalle Parish Center, 8477 Buffalo Ave, Niagara Falls.

A benefit event for the Niagara Falls AOH and its Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians chapter, this one is expected to offer a pleasant blend of Irish-American food, drink, music and culture for all ages, reported publicity chair Kathleen Florence.

"It's a small event, not as big as our annual St. Patrick's Day party, but it'll be fun," Florence said. "Tickets are going fairly well; there's a lot going on this weekend."

Food offerings are expected to include typical Irish favorites, including corned beef sandwiches, servings of shepherd's pie and salt potatoes, plus beef on weck, pizza and desserts available for sale.

Complementing it will be Irish beers - your Guinness and Harps - plus other local favorites and soft drinks.

Entertainment will feature the music of The Rayleigh Band from 4-5:30 p.m., Penny Whiskey from 6-10 p.m., and a performance by the McCarthy School of Irish Dance at 7 p.m.

Admission is a $10 donation, which includes one drink ticket per person.

Florence said tickets are now on sale from any AOH member, or from B&B Cigar, 2006 Main St., at Cleveland Avenue, in Niagara Falls; Cheri Amour, 522 Center St., Lewiston; and McNerney's Irish Imports, 480 Center St., Lewiston.
