The Buffalo Sabres have announced plans for "Party in the Plaza," which will take place prior to the team's season opener against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, Oct. 13. The event will be held in Tops Alumni Plaza from 5-6:30 p.m.

The party will be highlighted by a special live performance by DJ Kool, who will perform "Let Me Clear My Throat" at the conclusion of the party on the KeyBank Center Stage. "Let Me Clear My Throat" was the winner of a fan vote before last season to become the team's official goal song, and will again be the goal song for the 2016-17 season.

Sabres alumni and Sabretooth will be on hand to sign autographs and hand out giveaways during the event, which is free to the public. KeyBank will have an interactive booth for fans and will provide a special home opener handout for all fans in attendance at the game.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the party.

All outdoor events will be weather permitting.
