St. Stephen R.C. Church: Knights of Columbus holds installation

The Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No. 4752, located at 1841 Whitehaven Road, held an installation ceremony Saturday, Sept. 10. Installed were, from left, seated: Sean Carroll, deputy grand knight; Father Sam Venné, chaplain; and Gary Golembiewski, chancellor. Standing: Ken Hamm, inside guard; Rick Gonzalez, Paul Minton and Bill Gworek Sr., trustees; Ray Weldy, recorder; Peter Kuszczak, warden; Tom Kolniak, treasurer; and Dan Emanuele, financial secretary. Not pictured are Grand Knight Sal Schiavone and Chris Beyer, outside guard.

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization, established 134 years ago. The Mary Star of the Sea Council was chartered more than 50 years ago and has served the church and community ever since.

In addition to fundraisers and service projects, the Knights hold bingo every Tuesday at its hall, 1841 Whitehaven Road. Doors open at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Knights also host an American Red Cross blood drive at their hall on the third Monday in the month of October.
