In partnership with the Niagara Falls City School District, Niagara County Community College will offer programs in three fields of study within the hospitality and tourism field: baking and pastry arts; culinary arts; and hospitality management.

Each year, 60 selected high school seniors will spend part of their school day attending classes at the college's Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, which opened in 2012. Students will also be provided with a variety of student support services, including career exploration and coaching, academic tutoring, and high school to college transition support with workshops and seminars offered throughout the program year.

This opportunity was made possible after NCCC was selected by the U.S. Department of Education to offer a high school Pell Grant at Niagara Falls High School.

"To have our programs at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute recognized at a national level for the contribution they are making to the culinary and hospitality industries is wonderful," said NCCC President James P. Klyczek.

Mark Laurrie, deputy superintendent of the Niagara Falls School District, said, "This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for the students in Niagara Falls to partner with the world class programming offered at NCCC. I am confident that this is just the beginning of a growing partnership with NCCC to prepare our students to be college and career prepared right in the City of Niagara Falls. This early college-type model makes complete sense for our students and the community and we are thrilled our students will be able to utilize the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute."
