Wheatfield Republican Club to host family picnic

The Town of Wheatfield Republican Club will hold its 46th annual family picnic from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at the Wheatfield Lions Club Pavilion on Ward Road next to the American Legion Post.

The picnic is open to the public. Tickets are $15 for adults and children under 16, accompanied by a parent, are free. Tickets can be purchased from picnic committee members or at the picnic.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausage, steamed corn, salads and desserts will be served all afternoon and are included in the price of each ticket.

Also featured will be bingo, euchre and ladder golf tournaments as well as other adult and children's games.

Rep. Chris Collins, Sen. Robert G. Ortt, assembly candidates Angelo Morinello and Michael Norris, Niagara County Clerk Joseph Jastrzemski, Niagara County district attorney candidate Caroline Wojtaszek, along with county legislators, have been invited to attend.

The committee includes event chairman and Wheatfield Supervisor Robert B. Cliffe, and the following co-chairs: Councilman Larry Helwig, beer; John Mattio, pop and water; Councilman Gil Doucet, corn; Jim Heuer, hot dogs, hamburgers and Italian sausage; Town Clerk Kathy Harrington, salads; Don Dee, tickets; Art Kroening, euchre; Winston Moeller, ladder golf; and Nancy Rosie, door prizes and bingo. Councilman Arthur Gerbec is picnic treasurer.
