The Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas will host its 19th annual "Charity Clambake" from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at The Shores Waterfront Restaurant on Tonawanda Island.

The summer event usually draws approximately 500 attendees from local communities and businesses. The evening will feature a live and a silent auction, basket raffle, grand prize raffle and a 50/50 split. The overall theme of the event is "Go for the Gold." Entertainment and the auction will be provided compliments of Scott Dirmyer of Ultimate Event Professional DJ Services.

"This event draws people from so many different venues, including our membership, businesses, organizations, community partners and your next-door neighbors," said Angela Johnson-Renda, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas. "Come determined to win a gold medal! All-you-can-eat clams from 4-7 p.m., non-seafood appetizers, clam chowder, barbecue burgers, Italian sausage/peppers and onions, coleslaw, corn on the cob, parsley potatoes, fresh fruit, rolls, brownies ... there is something for everyone!"

A portion of this year's proceeds will benefit DeGraff Memorial Hospital's patient services.

Tickets are available for $45 at the chamber at 254 Sweeney St., North Tonawanda.
