New skill makes it easier for fans to get up-to-date information on their favorite NBC shows

NBC is now the first broadcast network to develop and launch a skill for Amazon's Alexa, allowing fans to more easily find up-to-date information on their favorite NBC shows such as "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," "Saturday Night Live," "Blindspot," "Shades of Blue" and "The Voice."

In addition to the newly launched skill, NBC also created a "Flash Briefing" with popular hit show "The Voice" during the live episodes this past season. "The Voice" teamed up to create a weekly podcast series that featured all of the remaining artists, exclusive to the Amazon Echo.

Hosted by season seven finalist Matt McAndrew, the remaining artists were in the hot-seat for free form discussion, talking about everything from shared experiences on the show, to stage fright, performance inspiration and inside jokes.

"We are excited to be the first broadcast network to launch a skill for Amazon Alexa," said Rob Hayes, executive vice president, digital, NBC Entertainment. "NBC is committed to exploring artificial intelligence platforms, particularly around entertainment content, so it absolutely made sense for us to begin engaging with our television viewers on the Amazon Alexa platform. We are thrilled to leverage the AI capabilities of Alexa to help the NBC viewer find the content that they love, whether it be the Alexa daily flash briefing for 'The Voice' or the NBC schedule skill to connect viewers with the latest information on their favorite shows."
