The public is invited to participate in a pond study at Bond Lake Park from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 4.

Visitors will use nets to scoop small plants and critters out of the big lake on Lower Mountain Road in Ransomville. Collections will be placed into small containers and taken to Shelter 1 beside the lake.

Lighted microscopes and magnifying glasses will assist participants in identifying small microbes and plankton. Visitors should expect to empty collections back into the lake after examination.

This event is free and open to all ages. It is sponsored by the Bond Lake Environmental and Beautification Committee

Gather in the Bond Lake parking lot at about 12:45 p.m. to pick up equipment. Those with aquarium nets at home should bring them.

Heavy rain will cancel this event, though drizzle will not deter these activities. Any questions, contact Carol at 716-694-3488.
