Artpark would like to invite the community to participate in a free street theater workshop.

Actors and non-actors are welcome!

Participants will learn about street performance at Artpark during the week of June 13 with international troupe Giraffe Royale.

Giraffe Royal has been working in the genre of visual theater for more than a quarter century. At the heart of the troupe's creative method is in-depth study of clowning, folklore, pantomime, ritual dance, technical mastery of brandishing swords, and street theater.

Guests will incorporate what they've learned, performing alongside Giraffe Royale in a performance choreographed by director Carin Jean White during Artpark's Fairy House Festival (June 18-19). Each person will have the opportunity to wear an original design by costume creator Uta Bekaia.

Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to participate in the Artpark performance internship that includes further training and performance opportunities at programs such as "Free Family Saturdays," the Brazilian Festival and "Hansel and Gretel."
