Wilson Historical Society slates Memorial Day Fair

The 44th annual Wilson Historical Society Memorial Day Fair will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 30, on the museum grounds, 645 Lake St.

Society officials report the fair will offer attractions for all ages, including:

•A super flea market with more than 250 vendors that will open the day.

•A special Memorial Day flag-raising ceremony by the American Legion taking place at noon.

•The fair's antique care museum will again be on site with a special section for those who wish to display their vehicles on the grounds, with dash plaques provided to those who participate.

•New this year will be pony rides for the kids with a petting zoo.

•Plenty of food and beverage offerings will be available. A Chiavetta's chicken barbecue runs from 10:30 a.m. until sold out. Other fare includes hot dogs and hamburgers, cotton candy, homemade pies, sno-cones, coffee and doughnuts.

•The Museum Depot will be open for visitors with exhibits and displays provided. The Caboose, Fittro Shop, One Room Schoolhouse and the Tugwell Cabin will all be open to the public.

Parking is free at the museum and in the village with a shuttle bus to take visitors to the grounds.
