Mayor Byron Brown and event chairs Sam Savarino and Julia Spitz announced Explore & More Children's Museum will be driving the fun downtown this year, bringing Touch-A-Truck to the Buffalo News parking lot for a "Citywide Day of Play." The Buffalo Bills, The Buffalo Sabres, NFTA-Metro and JW Danforth Co. are the presenting sponsors, along with over 50 other community and corporate leaders.

As a "Citywide Day of Play," the event is being made accessible to children and families in need. In collaboration with the mayor's office and a host of community and corporate good neighbors, thousands of free tickets and free Metro day passes to participate will be generously offered through Say Yes Buffalo, Buffalo Public Schools and other service organizations. West Herr Automotive is underwriting the Metro day passes to be distributed.

"June 5 will be a special day for the children of Buffalo. The 'Citywide Day of Play,' and the relocation of Explore & More Children's Museum to Canalside, are great investments for our community and adds to the positive growth we are experiencing in Buffalo," Brown said.

The event will take place in the Scott Street parking lot between Michigan and Washington from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 5. Children and families can climb in, on and around every kind of truck and vehicle imaginable in the outdoor lot. A variety of other hands-on activities will be offered, as well, including making and racing your own derby car, character visits, autograph signings and much more.

"Explore & More, the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres have a shared interest in keeping kids in Buffalo active and healthy. 'Citywide Day of Play' is an event that symbolizes our commitment to this mission," Bills and Sabres President Russ Brandon said.

"We are all excited that Explore and More Children's museum will be moving to a new home at Canalside in 2018. We are equally excited to be able to bring Touch-A-Truck downtown this year - providing many more children and families the opportunity to play and explore together," Savarino said. "Our 'Citywide Day of Play' serves as great example of what Explore & More, with the help of its community partners, can do to make a positive and lasting impact to the lives of children in our community."

Celebrating its 22nd year in operation, Explore & More Children's Museum provides an environment for creative play and learning through hands-on exhibits, activities and programs that inspire creativity, curiosity and imagination.
