Boots, Brews & Bacon Festival scheduled for August

One of the Niagara Falls area's most exciting outdoor community festivals is teaming up with Falls' top entertainment resort destination for a fun-filled, three-day event that everyone can enjoy.

Officials from Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino and organizers from the Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival announced the fourth annual Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival will take place in Seneca Square, in front of Seneca Niagara, June 17-19. The free community event will feature a wide collection of artists, live music, vendors, food and beverages, and activities, all centered on community and family fun.

"We are thrilled to bring the Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival to Seneca Niagara to help make this year's festival the best yet," said Audrey Oswell, chief operating officer, Seneca Gaming Corp. "Millions of people recognize Seneca Niagara as the complete destination for entertainment and excitement, and, each year, thousands of people make the Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival a central part of their summer plans. Bringing our two organizations together will make for one of the most exciting weekends of the summer."

Niagara Falls native and businessman Rick Crogan founded the Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival in 2010, as the Main Street Music & Art Festival. As the event grew into one of the area's premier events, it was moved to Old Falls Street and renamed the Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival. Last year, approximately 35,000 people attended the festival from around the world. The festival has been listed as a recommended attraction by the "I Love New York" campaign and by Amtrak Weekend Getaway.

The growth in popularity led Crogan to discuss a partnership with Seneca Niagara.

"The energy and excitement surrounding the festival has been overwhelming. More and more people each year are coming together to enjoy a vibrant, artistic and eclectic experience of what makes this community great," Crogan said. "Seneca Square is going to come alive during this year's festival, and we couldn't be more excited to work with the team at Seneca Niagara."

A complete entertainment lineup for this year's Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival will be announced in coming weeks.

Seneca Niagara and Crogan will also partner on a second festival later this summer. The new Boots, Brews & Bacon Festival is scheduled to debut in Seneca Square Aug. 5-7. Also free to the public, the Boots Brews & Bacon Festival is billed as a celebration of country and southern rock partnered with great food, retail vendors, a barbecue contest, and an auto show, among other activities and attractions. Crogan is planning to feature live music by bands from Nashville, Memphis, Chicago, New Orleans and Florida, along with many regional and Canadian acts.

"You're not going to find three days that are more fun than what we have planned for Boots, Brews & Bacon," Crogan said. "We think this will be an ultimate summer celebration here in downtown Niagara Falls."
