The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce honored 10 businesses and individuals at the annual Chamber Awards Gala Friday, April 29, at the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls. The evening was held to celebrate the business community and those citizens who help contribute to the success of the region.
The awards were given based on leadership, dedication and achievement in the community. The chamber and its business association chose the business winners, while the municipalities chose the citizen awardees.
The Chamber Awards Gala recognized the businesses and citizens who help make the region a wonderful place to live and do business.
Chamber President Jennifer Pauly served as mistress of ceremonies.

River Region Partnership Award: Supermarket Liquors and Wines
Lewiston Business of the Year: Warren's Village Hardware
Youngstown Business of the Year: Ray's Tavern
Ransomville Business of the Year: Porter Empty Return Center
Sanborn Business of the Year: Niagara County Central Rotary
Village of Lewiston Citizen of the Year: Tim Henderson
Youngstown Citizen of the Year: Robert Monroe
Town of Porter Citizen of the Year: Hon. David Truesdale
Town of Lewiston Citizen of the Year: Ronald Winkley
The event began with hors d'oeuvres and then a sit-down dinner. The awards program came next, followed by music, a silent auction and an impromptu live auction.
Faces in the Crowd
The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce is a personalized chamber whose mission is to unify the region and to promote it as a premiere place to live, work and play. The organization is responsible for coordinating efforts in the marketing and promotion of tourism, business development, quality of life and the history and culture of the region, which encompasses Lewiston, Youngstown, Porter, Ransomville and Sanborn.
