The New York State Department of Transportation announced a portion of Buffalo Avenue in downtown Niagara Falls is scheduled to be closed to traffic, as crews perform utility work as a part of the project to reconstruct the interchange of Robert Moses Parkway and John B. Daly Boulevard.

Beginning Monday, May 2, Buffalo Avenue, between First and Old Main streets, is slated to be closed to traffic in both directions. This work is expected to last for approximately one week.

Motorists are reminded fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
