Countdown to 'The Chew's' 1,000th show continues, building up to a fun-filled feast of surprises, special guests, superstar chefs and cupcakes for everyone

May sweeps is abloom, and the champagne is chilling with the countdown to "The Chew's" milestone 1,000th show. It's been five years of food, life and fun, and Monday through Wednesday, a different co-host will reveal personal favorite moments from "The Chew's" archives, along with candid video messages from some of "The Chew's" biggest celebrity fans.

All week, "The Chew" will celebrate the recipes viewers wanted to see most. On Thursday, May 5, in the 1,000th show, the "Tasting Table" is packed with celebrity chefs, and the audience is filled with the co-hosts' VIP friends and family, ready for a cavalcade of surprises and trips down memory lane.

During this seminal week, co-hosts Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Clinton Kelly, Carla Hall and Daphne Oz also welcome guests, including Mercedes Mason ("Fear the Walking Dead") and cookbook author Rosanna Pansino, and spotlight desserts to dazzle mom for Mother's Day and much more.

Listings for May 2-6 (subject to change; 1 p.m. weekdays on ABC) are as follows:

Monday, May 2 - "Quick Fixes" - Clinton makes cucumber and almond soup and frozen "Paloma Palooza" with Mercedes Mason. Daphne spotlights edible centerpieces perfect for table and garden, and Mario has a speedy and succulent pork saltimbucca. Mario also reveals his favorite moments from the past 1,000 episodes.

Tuesday, May 3 - "Cooking Lessons" - In honor of National Teacher Day, Michael gives cooking lessons to two teachers, and Mario gives a food-oriented geography lesson. A visit to L.A. Kitchen and Robert Egger, who is working with farmers to help create jobs and fight hunger, serving some of this nation's neediest. Clinton reveals his favorite moments from the past 1,000 episodes.

Wednesday, May 4 - "Insider Tips" - Mario and Michael share their insider tips on making restaurant-quality meals at home. Clinton has the scoop on how to throw a successful party and reveals his favorite moments from the past 1,000 episodes. Daphne welcomes blogger Rosanna Pansino, author of "The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook."

Thursday, May 5 - "1,000th Show" - Five years in the making, the 1,000th show is here at last! Packed with an audience of the co-hosts' friends and family, a "Tasting Table" filled with some of the world's most notable chefs, and surprise celebrity guests all hour. The co-hosts reveal the top three most-downloaded "Chew" recipes, and artist Rock Demarco paints a portrait of the co-hosts throughout the hour.

Friday, May 6 "Kitchen Wisdom" - It's the perfect Mother's Day feast when Michael and Mario serve up a meal inspired by their own moms' favorite foods, and Clinton makes a tempting pie as a nod to his grandmother. Daphne and her girlfriend, Leah, have a mom's night out at an organic baby food cooking class in New York City.
