The Friends of the Youngstown Free Library will host the seventh annual "Dessert and Wine in the Stacks" bake sale fundraiser from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the Youngstown Free Library, 240 Lockport St. The event is suitable for adults and children.

The dessert and appetizer offerings will come from recipes found in the library's collection. The children's room will present kid-friendly treats, fruit punch and water.

"This is a very special event as the community comes together amongst the library shelves to enjoy a social evening whilst sampling the baking prowess of both trustee and Friends board members, as well as library staff," said Jan Gilgore, library director.

Tickets for the event are now on sale at the library, at $8 for 10. The price is $10 for 10 April 15. Home-baked desserts and appetizers are one ticket each. A donation of two tickets is appreciated for a sampling of wine.

The Friends of the Youngstown Free Library has a membership of about 250 and is run by a volunteer board of directors. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. every third Wednesday of the month.
