Community leaders will rock for better health

The Auxiliary of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will hold its 15th annual Rock-a-thon from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, in the hospital's upper lobby.

Members and friends of the auxiliary, including elected officials and other community leaders, will rock (in rocking chairs) for half-hour increments with each rocker soliciting pledges. Proceeds will used to support equipment purchases and programs at the medical center.

The auxiliary has raised more than $100,000 at previous rock-a-thon events.

This year's Rock-a-thon is dedicated in memory of Helen Smith, who founded the event, and Niagara Falls City Councilman Robert A. Anderson Jr., who was a long-time supporter.

Judy Shahin and Gloria Tarpinian are co-chairs. To rock or for more information, call 716-278-4159.
