Castaldo appointed medical director for Kalos Health

Kalos Health President and CEO John Lomeo recently announced the appointment of Dr. Richard Castaldo as medical director for the managed long-term care program. In his new position, Castaldo will be responsible for the management of Kalos Health's clinical programs, including care coordination and quality of care initiatives.

"We look forward to working with Dr. Castaldo and his leadership in expanding Kalos Health's provider collaboration activities throughout Western New York," Lomeo said.

Castaldo received his bachelor's degree in biology and his medical degree from the University of Rome Medical School. He maintains a primary care practice in Niagara Falls as well as serves as the primary care doctor for Niagara University's Division I Hockey Team. Castaldo has participated in numerous phase two and phase three research projects throughout the years, as well as a number of publications. In 2002, he was honored as Teacher of the Year for Family Practice at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine.

Kalos Health is a local managed long-term care program providing care coordination for Medicaid recipients diagnosed with chronic illnesses in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee and Chautauqua counties. Kalos Health provides individuals 18 and older with personalized care management services with the goal of helping members remain in their own home. Members work with case managers and a team of health care professionals to develop a comprehensive plan to ensure the member's health and wellness needs are met.
