McCarthy School of Irish Dance presents "A Celtic Christmas" at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Grand Island High School Auditorium, 1100 Ransom Road. Enjoy a celebration of the holiday season combined with Irish dance and festive music featuring members of The Blarney Bunch.

For the past 26 years, McCarthy School of Irish Dance has performed its energetic traditional Irish dances throughout the community at various events. The revenue generated from this community-wide show allows the parent group to assist the families of the school by purchasing authentic dresses from Ireland and to fund many events throughout the year. The parent group also awards scholarship money to one or more of graduating seniors each spring.

Presale tickets for this event are $10, $12 at the door. Participants are asked to bring a canned good, mittens, scarves, games, toys, etc., the day of the show to support St. Luke's Mission of Mercy and the Grand Island Neighbors Foundation. Those intending to purchase a ticket and donate to a family in need can email [email protected] or call 716-870-5895.

Main doors will open at 1 p.m. for the "Big Basket Raffle," with more than 25 gift baskets each valued at $100 or more.

Event seating begins at 1:45 p.m. with the show beginning promptly at 2 p.m. A reception will follow.

The McCarthy School of Irish Dance studio is located at 1709 Grand Island Blvd.
