Candidates Night set for Oct. 15

The Grand Island Lions Club, in conjunction with Isledegrande.com and the Island Dispatch, will sponsor "Grand Island Candidates Night" from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in the auditorium at Kaegebein Elementary School, 1690 Love Road.

Candidates in the general election will meet to discuss campaign topics such as tourist homes, zoning and events in the Town Center (business district). Questions for the candidates will also be collected on 3-by-5 cards from the audience prior to the start and may be used. A moderator has not yet been determined. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Candidates who have agreed to attend include: town clerk candidate Pattie Frentzel, supervisor candidates Mary Cooke and Nathan McMurray, and Town Council candidates Beverly Kinney, Mike Madigan, Jim Maloney, Cyndy Montana and Gary Roesch. Candidates for town justice have also been invited.

Mike Rayhill will moderate the forum.

Please bring donations of eyeglasses, walkers and wheelchairs for the Lions Club.
