Obit: Irene M. Thompson

Irene M. Thompson entered into rest Sept. 29, 2015.

Mrs. Thompson was a private duty geriatric nurse and also worked at Niagara Geriatric. She was also a realtor at Century 21 on Grand Island.

A resident of Grand Island, she was the wife of the late John E. Thompson; mother of Diane (Mitchell) Essig, Colleen Nicholson, Patrick, Randall (Paula), Cheryl (Lou) Gonda and Shawn (Dolores) Thompson; grandmother of Joshua, Kevin and Benjamin Essig, Shane (Jaime) Nicholson, Heather and Nicholas (Erin) Thompson, Jason and Jessica Gonda, Alexandra, Peter and Rebecca Thompson, and Stephanie Perry. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Lorraine (Charlie) Gurley and the late Rita (late Ray) Monkelbaan, and the daughter of the late Frank and Celia Noras.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen R.C. Church (the old church).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo.
