Out-of-pocket expenses can pile up quickly for patients dealing with breast cancer. While insurance can help, there are still co-pays to cover, over-the-counter medications to purchase and other costs that aren't covered by insurance plans.

To help breast cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment cope with such expenses, the 2U ABC Support Group at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will hold a gala titled "Sisters We Win" from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Niagara Active Hose Fire Co., 6010 Lockport Road, Town of Niagara.

Tickets for the event are $40 with proceeds to benefit the 2U ABC Breast Cancer Relief Fund Project.

Host for the event will be WIVB-TV news reporter Brittni Smallwood with music provided by TNT - the Thomas Nelson Tribe. A singer/songwriter, Nelson has performed at Massey Hall in Toronto and for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. In his first Western New York performance in several years, he will be joined by friends from the Soul Providers: Sal Perrello on guitar and Tim Webb on drums.

"Sisters We Win" also will feature a silent auction and vendor displays. For more information or to purchase your tickets, contact Bertha Brinson at 716-278-4763 or Cassandra Jackson at 716-278-4896.
