Niagara Greenway projects and meetings announced

The Niagara River Greenway Commission will meet Tuesday, Nov. 17, to determine the consistency of the 47th round of projects. The meeting will take place at 3 p.m. in the Community Room at the New York Power Authority, Niagara Power Project, 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston. The general meeting will be preceded at 2 p.m. by the executive committee meeting.

The projects under consideration are:

  • Buffalo -Niagara Riverkeeper - Sustainable Stewardship of the Niagara River Greenway Project
  • Buffalo - Niagara Riverkeeper - Weber Property Acquisition and Restoration Planning
  • Buffalo Lighthouse Association - Lighthouse Point Site Enhancement and Bike Path Project
  • City of Niagara Falls - LaSalle Greenway Trail
  • City of Niagara Falls - Customhouse Harriet Tubman Plaza
  • Town of Cambria - Comfort Station Project

Public comment on these projects is now being accepted through Oct. 30. The projects are posted online at www.niagaragreenway.org. Comments may be submitted to [email protected] or by hard copy to the commission at P.O. Box 1132, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.

The Niagara River Greenway Commission is a public benefit corporation established by Chapter 460 of the laws of 2004, and charged with the planning and development of a greenway of interconnected parks, river access points and waterfront trails along the Niagara River from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario at the site of the historic Fort Niagara.
