Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports members of the Detective Bureau arrested two females involved Aug. 11 with a grand larceny at Tops Market on Grand Island.

When deputies responded to the scene, employees provided a vague description of the subjects and a partial license plate number. Deputies began investigating various combinations of the partial and when a detective located a vehicle matching the description of the car used in the larceny. Further investigation found the license plate characters matched the partial plate observed by Tops employees.

Detectives utilized the store's surveillance video to identify the subjects and subsequently arrested and charged Alexis Price, 19, and Angelina Colucci, 19, both from Grand Island, with grand larceny Sept. 8.

The defendants were released and face future court proceedings.
