By now, we know this weekend's 14th annual Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival will, of course, offer a bevy of top-notch jazz musicians performing around the village. What some might not know, however, is that organizers have upped the ante this year by adding a slate of new events.

•MIA Instrument Zoo: From 1-4 p.m. Saturday in the DiCamillo Bakery Courtyard, junior passersby can touch, feel and try things out as The Music is Art Instrument Zoo, run by high school students, gives younger children the opportunity to find their musical voice. Stop by and learn about all of the youth programs offered by Music is Art.

•Riverboat Jazz on the Niagara Belle: From 1-4:30 p.m. Saturday, older guests can listen to music on a brand new stage: the Niagara Belle paddle wheeler.  Boat shuttles depart every 20 minutes from the Lewiston dock. Tickets are $10.

The Niagara Belle also will offer a dinner jazz cruise with 5:30 p.m. boarding and 6 p.m. departure (8 p.m. return). This event includes live jazz music and a buffet-style dinner prepared fresh by Water Street Landing chefs.

For more information, or for tickets, call 1-888-438-4444 or visit www.niagarasunsetcruises.com.

•"Jazz Mass": St. Peter's R.C. Church will host a "Jazz Mass" at 4:30 p.m. Saturday featuring live music by Bobby Militello at 4 p.m.

Popular returning Jazz Festival events include a jewelry show from 5-10 p.m. Friday and noon until 10 p.m. Saturday at the South Fifth and Center streets tent; and a classic car show from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday along Center Street featuring vintage British cars, European collector cars and cars of special interest presented by the Buffalo Jaguar Club.

Sevenson Environmental Services and Artpark & Company present the Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival. For more information, visit www.lewistonjazz.com.
