Lockport CARES Homeless Shelter yard sale and chowder sale

Lockport CARES Homeless Shelter will hold a yard sale/open house/chowder sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19, at 188 and 192 Genesee St. Chowder will be sold for $2 a bowl or $5 a quart.

Donations needed for the chowder sale include: potatoes, tomato puree, corn, green beans, carrots, celery, onions, beef and chicken.

Since opening its doors in November 2009, Lockport CARES Homeless Shelter has housed more than 1,200 homeless persons. For more information, call 716-438-2273 or visit www.lockportcares.org.
