Beta Sigma Phi to host state convention

Members of Niagara Falls Beta Sigma Phi Society will welcome more than 300 sisters from across New York and Canada to its annual convention Sept. 25-27 at the Sheraton at the Falls, 300 Third St.

Attendees at the "Sparkling Niagara"-themed event will ride the Maid of the Mist and visit the Lewiston Harvest Festival, Fatima Shrine, the Historic Riviera Theatre and the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute. Laura Ross, president of the executive council in Kansas City, Missouri, will be a guest.

Founded in 1931, Beta Sigma Phi is an international women's social, cultural and service organization. Chapters are located in a total of 23 countries, as well as each state and every Canadian province. Each year, 165,000 members donate more than 200,000 volunteer hours and raise more than $3 million for charitable causes.
