Celebrity bartending event features local advertising pros competing to raise money for scholarships
The Advertising Club of Buffalo is hosting the fifth annual "celebrity" bartending event, "The Big Tip-Off," on Thursday, Aug. 20. Taking place at Soho Burger Bar, several of Western New York's big shots of advertising will be behind the bar competing against each other to see who can earn the most tips for a good cause.
The bartender who collects the most tips will receive bragging rights and, of course, a coveted trophy. All tip money raised will go to the Ad Club's scholarship fund, which supports the local advertising community by awarding nearly $5,000 annually to students.
Representing several of WNY's top advertising agencies and organizations, "The Big Tip-Off" competitors include:
"The club is excited to bring together the advertising community for a fun night of friendly competition as we raise funds for students studying for careers in our industry," said Matt Low, event chair and Ad Club board member. "We've got a few ringers in the group this year. We're expecting a very successful event as these pros pour some pints for a good cause."
Admission is $20 and includes appetizers plus open bar from 6-9 pm. Guests are encouraged to tip their favorite bartender. Cash and checks will be accepted; no credit cards. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.advertisingclubofbuffalo.com.
