Niagara County Genealogical Society plans conference

The Niagara County Genealogical Society will host a Genealogical Conference from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26 in Room E140 of Niagara County Community College, 311 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

The conference will feature author and international speaker Lisa Louise Cooke.

Cooke is the owner of Genealogy Gems, a genealogy and family history multimedia company. She is producer and host of the "Genealogy Gems" podcast, a popular online genealogy audio show available at www.GenealogyGems.com, from iTunes and through the Genealogy Gems app. Her podcast brings genealogy news, research strategies, expert interviews and inspiration to genealogists in 75 countries around the world, and recently celebrated 1.5 million downloads.

Conference topics will include:

  • Future Technology and Genealogy - 5 Strategies You Need
  • How to Reopen and Work a Genealogical Cold Case
  • How to Save Your Research from Destruction and Ensure Its Future Survival
  • Google Earth for Genealogy

The cost is $25 for NCGS members, $30 for non-members. Lunch is included.

There is limited seating available. Registration is required; the deadline is Sept. 11.
