The Buffalo Zoo welcomes Tops Friendly Markets as the presenting sponsor of the new Arctic Edge exhibit.
Tops, a longtime corporate sponsor of the EcoStation exhibit, is taking on the new role as the corporate sponsor of the new Arctic Edge exhibit for the next three years.
Construction of Arctic Edge is nearing completion. The Buffalo Zoo will open the 1.5-acre exhibit to visitors in September. The space will be home to polar bears, including Luna, who quickly became the Buffalo Zoo's most popular resident as a cub in 2013. Arctic Edge also will feature American bald eagles, Eurasian lynx and Arctic wolves.
"The partnership with Tops Markets has continued to strengthen over the years," said Dr. Donna Fernandes, Buffalo Zoo CEO and president. "We are thrilled and appreciative of their interest in being the corporate sponsor of our Arctic Edge exhibit, which we cannot wait to unveil to the public in mid-September."
"We are honored and humbled to be involved with such a major exhibit at the Buffalo Zoo," said Andrew Brocato, Tops' director of public and community relations. "Everyone knows how much the community rallied around the birth of the baby polar bears two years ago, and that Luna is still a major attraction is very appealing. Supporting this family-friendly exhibit allows us to be part of something very special in Buffalo, and we are thrilled that thousands of visitors will have a chance to enjoy this magnificent addition to the zoo."
