The New York State Department of Transportation has announced a project to replace box culverts on Route 31 in the vicinity of Niagara County Community College, in the Town of Cambria, is scheduled to begin Monday, July 27.

As a result, from approximately 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., motorists will encounter daily lane closures on Route 31 between Townline and Baer roads. Traffic will alternate the use of one lane controlled by temporary signals.

This project is expected to last for six weeks.

Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time or seek alternate routes.

Motorists also are reminded fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
