The 2015 Thunder of Niagara Airshow will feature The United States Army "Golden Knights" Parachute Team. This elite team will be performing in front of an anticipated record-breaking crowd. As part of the performance, Rex Ryan, the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, will participate in a tandem jump with the team at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station Friday, July 17.

For more than 55 years, members of the U. S. Army Parachute Team have been marking the milestones of achievement and an evolution of excellence serving as "ambassadors" of the Army's only official demonstration team. The Golden Knights portray the image of being the most formidable parachuting competitors and demonstrators in the world today.

The team is one of three authorized DOD aerial demonstration teams, along with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Navy Blue Angels. On Oct. 15, 1962, the team earned the nickname the "Golden Knights" on the competition field of battle (golden, signifying the gold medals the team won; knights, proving team members were world champions and the squad "conquered the skies").

The base is scheduled to host the 2015 Thunder of Niagara Air Show July 18-19. It will feature the United States Army Golden Knights parachute demonstration team as well as many additional performances.
