The Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees held its annual reorganizational meeting Monday to assign leadership roles for the next fiscal year.

Starting at the top, the board approved Trustee Bruce Sutherland as deputy mayor, Clerk/Treasurer Amy Salada as registrar, Melody Griffith as deputy clerk/deputy registrar, Edward Walker as deputy treasurer and budget officer, Joseph Leone as law counsel, Edward DeVantier as zoning officer, Pam Hauth as historian, Blair McEvoy as fire inspector, Norm Machelor as chairman of the Historic Preservation Committee/Planning Commission and John Ritter as chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Each person will serve for a one-year term.

Mike Marra, a former village trustee and Town of Lewiston councilman, was appointed chairman of the Parks, Conservation and Recreation Board. He will serve a two-year term. Denise Mess and Colleen Swavy were appointed to that board, while Peter MacLaren, Michael Swanson and Bart Klettke were reappointed to the Zoning Board with a term to 2019.

Government meetings will be held at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month October through May and the first Tuesday of September; and the third Monday of each month from September through August, except the February meeting, which shall be on the third Tuesday. All will take place inside the Red Brick Municipal Building, 145 N. Fourth St.

Trustees took action on a handful of other items. The following motions received approval:

•A request from Artpark & Company to use Hennepin Park on Friday, Aug. 28, for the annual M&T Bank party. The evening gathering is part of the Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival.

•A facility request from Wilson First Baptist Church to hold a 10 a.m. service Sunday, Aug. 23, at Academy Park. The Village Board conferred with Leone about this agenda item, and determined any organization - religious or otherwise - can use the public park so long as the proper paperwork (including fee and insurance) is filed.
